  • PJ Washington (foot) — Out

  • Frank Ntilikina (leg) — Out

  • Mark Williams (back) — Injured

  • Gordon Hayward (calf) — Injured

Ball has missed the previous 20 outings but could return to the lineup in Friday's contest. Since he went down, the Hornets have lost 17 of their 20 games and have had the league's worst Offensive Rating (107.9). If Ball suits up, he could face limitations due to the lengthy layoff, but that hasn't been mentioned. He'd have an enticing matchup against the Spurs, who have lost eight of their last 10 games and give up the second-most points per game (27.7) to point guards.

Memphis Grizzlies News

Confirmed Lineup: Desmond Bane, Luke Kennard, Vince Williams, Jaren Jackson Jr., Xavier Tillman

  • Santi Aldama (knee) — Out

  • Marcus Smart (finger) — Injured

  • Derrick Rose (hamstring) — Injured

  • Brandon Clarke (Achilles) — Injured

  • Ja Morant (shoulder) — Out for season

  • Steven Adams (knee) — Out for season

Smart has a severely injured finger that has been diagnosed as a rupture of the right proximal interphalangeal joint central slip. He will miss at least six weeks before being reevaluated. This comes at an unfortunate time for Memphis, as it was recently announced that Morant underwent season-ending surgery. The Grizzlies have been battling injuries and absences all season long. Bane will likely handle more of the on-ball responsibilities until Smart returns, including against the Clippers, who have the league's fourth-best Net Rating (+5.4) and have lost just three games since the start of December.

Orlando Magic News

Confirmed Lineup: Jalen Suggs, Caleb Houstan, Chuma Okeke, Paolo Banchero, Goga Bitadze

  • Wendell Carter Jr. (knee) — Out

  • Admiral Schofield (illness) — Available

  • Franz Wagner (ankle) — Out

  • Jonathan Isaac (illness) — Out

  • Gary Harris (calf) — Out

Miami Heat News

Confirmed Lineup: Jaime Jaquez Jr., Duncan Robinson, Haywood Highsmith, Nikola Jovic, Bam Adebayo

  • Jimmy Butler (toe) — Out

  • Tyler Herro (shoulder) — Out

  • Kyle Lowry (hand) — Out

  • Caleb Martin (ankle) — Available

  • Dru Smith (knee) — Out for season

As multiple starters deal with injuries, Adebayo could be forced to carry much of the weight on the offensive end. His 27.7% usage rate with Butler off the court ranks second on the team, trailing only Herro's rate of 28.9%. When Butler and Herro are off the floor, Adebayo posts a team-high 29.6% usage rate. Miami is facing Orlando, who give up 20.7 points per game to opposing centers, the fourth-fewest league-wide. However, the Magic are dealing with multiple injured players and lost their last outing by 21 points.

Utah Jazz News

New Orleans Pelicans News

Confirmed Lineup: CJ McCollum, Herb Jones, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, Jonas Valanciunas

  • Zion Williamson (quad) — Available

  • Brandon Ingram (Achilles) — Available

  • CJ McCollum (ankle) — Available

  • Trey Murphy III (knee) — Available

  • Matt Ryan (elbow) — Injured

The Pelicans could be without multiple starters as three are uncertain to play, along with their top reserve. The injury questions come at an inopportune time, as New Orleans will face Denver, who has won 11 of their last 15 games. These two teams have both won a game against each other this season, with the Pelicans winning the most recent contest by five points. Despite the multiple injured players, they'll look to maintain the recent hot streak that's seen them win four of five games in January.

Denver Nuggets News

Confirmed Lineup: Jamal Murray, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic

  • Julian Strawther (knee) — Injured

  • Vlatko Cancar (knee) — Injured
