Dennis Smith Jr. is expected to start at point guard with Theo Maledon backing him up. Gordon Hayward and Mason Plumlee should also receive expanded distributing roles, with everyone receiving greater usage to make up for the absences of Charlotte's projected top two scorers.

Garland's departure increased the distributing roles for Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert and both players recorded eight assists in Cleveland's blowout win over the Bulls on Saturday. Cedi Osman has also played at least 26 minutes in both of the Cavs' games, with Isaac Okoro starting against the Bulls.

Hayes will likely reclaim his backup center role when he returns. This would eliminate potential minutes for Willy Hernangomez and reduce time for other frontcourt reserves.

Anderson leaving on Friday after only one minute of play prompted Jaden McDaniels to receive 39 minutes in Minnesota's overtime loss.

Tre Mann will start with Gilgeous-Alexander out with Josh Giddey taking on an even more central playmaking role. The duo and Lu Dort should be pressed to generate a majority of the offense against the Timberwolves.
