Fernando played 25 minutes in his opening-day start. Usman Garuba started for the Rockets on Saturday and played 25 minutes, effectively claiming his role in a one-for-one swap. Jabari Smith Jr. would likely play greater center minutes if Sengun is ruled out, creating more opportunities for KJ Martin and Tari Eason in the frontcourt.
