The Sixers could potentially deploy a backup frontcourt Tuesday, with Covington a favorite to start at power forward despite being a relatively new face. It's been a clean split at center this season with Paul Reed firmly in place as the backup behind Embiid. If Embiid is unavailable, Reed is in line to start after starting just two games last season. Mo Bamba would likely see his first rotation minutes of the season behind Reed.

His 35.3 points per game over the last five games is the most league-wide, and he gets a plus matchup against the Spurs who have the second-worst defensive rating (119.8) and have allowed the most points per game (124.2) to opponents this season.

His 23.0 passes received per game is ranked seventh on the team. Could playing more minutes with Chris Paul help? Paul's 36.0% assist rate is the second-highest on the team, ahead of Curry's 21.3% assist rate. He's also recorded team-highs in assist points created (20.0) and potential assists (15.8) per game.
