"He woke up with some residual tightness in the back this morning," coach Vogel said of Beal. "We were hoping it would loosen up by game time. But it did not, so we held him out." With Beal unlikely to play in this contest against Utah, it appears that the debut will have to wait at least another game.

Portland has the league's worst Offensive Rating (104.2), and in the previous game against the Blazers, the Lakers allowed just 110 points in a win sans James.
Regarding Davis' injuries, he mentioned that his hip tightness flared up during the first half of the last game. After that contest, he said that he's still treating the ailments every day, but that they weren't why he performed poorly. "I just played bad," said Davis.
