Antetokounmpo's final status will be critical regarding positional matchups, as Miles Bridges is set to play in his first game back from suspension.

Off the court, trade talks continue to surround LaVine, who was vocal about his team's performance when asked about a potential trade that would send him out of Chicago. "I'm frustrated we're not winning," LaVine said Wednesday. "I think if you're not frustrated, that's a problem. It's an upsetting thing when we've been trying to do the right thing for the last three or four years."

"He woke up with some residual tightness in the back this morning," coach Vogel said of Beal. "We were hoping it would loosen up by game time. But it did not, so we held him out." With Beal unlikely to play in this contest against Utah, it appears that the debut will have to wait at least another game.

The Lakers' opponents score 115.9 points per game, the ninth-most league-wide. L.A. will have a chance to improve their defensive numbers against an injury-riddled Blazers team. Portland has the league's worst Offensive Rating (104.2), and in the previous game against the Blazers, the Lakers allowed just 110 points in a win sans James.

Regarding Davis' injuries, he mentioned that his hip tightness flared up during the first half of the last game. After that contest, he said that he's still treating the ailments every day, but that they weren't why he performed poorly. "I just played bad," said Davis. He also noted that he would play Friday before being listed as probable on the injury report.
