In the offseason, there were conversations about who would be the fifth starter between Schröder and Gary Trent Jr. Schröder ultimately won the job despite having a subpar preseason. That hasn't been the case through the first four regular season outings, however, as he's averaged 16.2 points and 9.2 assists. His 14.8 potential assists per game are the fifth-most league-wide.

With James Harden and PJ Tucker gone, the 76ers must make some starting lineup decisions. It appears that Melton will remain a starter, and on Wednesday, coach Nurse stated that Oubre Jr. would join the lineup for Tucker in the short term. Nurse also mentioned that when the newly added players are ready to play, he will experiment with lineups.

However, in the last two games, he's had a minus-31 plus/minus and the Spurs have lost both contests. Now he'll face a Suns team that holds guards to the third-lowest field-goal percentage (42.1%).
