The Bulls' 127-105 victory over Detroit on Thursday night locked Chicago into the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference ahead of the Play-In Tournament. The Bulls will face the Hawks at the United Center in the 9-10 game. In clinching the ninth seed, neither of Chicago's two remaining regular-season games are meaningful, and coach Donovan said "conversations will take place" with players and medical staff about the possibility of outright resting or reducing minutes for starters.

The Magic enter the Friday mega-slate with perhaps the most seeding variance of any team. Orlando can reasonably finish anywhere between fourth and eighth in the East. This game against the 76ers is especially pivotal, as Philadelphia is one game behind Orlando in the standings. The Sixers have to win out to have any chance of avoiding the Play-In Tournament.
Confirmed Lineup: Tyrese Maxey, Kyle Lowry, Kelly Oubre, Tobias Harris, Joel Embiid
Joel Embiid (injury recovery) — In
Kyle Lowry (knee) — Available
KJ Martin (toe) — Out
Tyrese Maxey (hip) — Not on injury report
Robert Covington (knee) — Injured
While the Sixers' injury reports have been suspect in recent weeks, it seems highly unlikely that Embiid would sit in this pivotal Eastern Conference game. He has played four games since his return from the major knee issue, averaging 30.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 30.1 minutes per outing.

The projected lineup for the Celtics should be considered highly volatile. All five starters plus Horford are questionable Friday; this was the expected outcome given that the Celtics are not playing for much at this point in the season. They have already clinched the league's top overall seed with a 62-18 record. All six of the questionable players suited up in Thursday night's front end against the Knicks; only Tatum played over 30 minutes. The writing is on the wall for Boston to rest multiple players during Friday's back end against Charlotte.
The biggest question is who will actually be available for Boston given that the Maine Celtics played Game 2 of the G League Finals Thursday night in Oklahoma City and have a title-deciding Game 3 on tap Monday night at the Portland Expo. Jordan Walsh, Neemias Queta, JD Davison, and Drew Peterson have been playing with Maine during this series. It's not known at this time if they will be available for the big club on Friday. If all six questionable players are ruled out and none of the Maine players are in the team, Boston would be looking at seven players available: Payton Pritchard, Jaden Springer, Svi Mykhailiuk, Sam Hauser, Xavier Tillman, Brissett, and Luke Kornet. They would have to dress an eighth player from the questionable tags as a formality to meet the NBA minimum.
Confirmed Lineup: Tyrese Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith, Pascal Siakam, Myles Turner
Isaiah Jackson (hamstring) — Out
Bennedict Mathurin (shoulder) — Out for season
Aiding the sixth-place Pacers in their quest to avoid the Play-In Tournament is that they have clinched the tiebreakers over both the seventh-place 76ers and the eighth-place Heat. If the Pacers win one of their final two games, or if the Sixers lose one of their final two, Indiana will be guaranteed a top six finishing position.
Confirmed Lineup: Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Max Strus, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen
Sam Merrill (neck) — Out
Dean Wade (knee) — Injured
Ty Jerome (ankle) — Injured
The most likely finishing position for the Cavs is fourth place in the East, but they can still technically finish anywhere from second through seventh. Making things difficult for Cleveland is that they currently do not own the tiebreakers against any of Milwaukee, New York, or Orlando. This game against Indiana is massive from a tiebreaker perspective, as the winner of this contest would own the tiebreaker advantage between the two teams.
Confirmed Lineup: Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, Bogdan Bogdanovic, De'Andre Hunter, Clint Capela
Dejounte Murray (quad) — Available
Clint Capela (rest) — Available
AJ Griffin (ankle) — Available
Wesley Matthews (hamstring) — Out

Jalen Johnson (ankle) — Injured
Onyeka Okongwu (toe) — Injured
Saddiq Bey (knee) — Out for season
Murray sat out Wednesday night with this quad injury after playing 49 minutes in a double-overtime loss one day prior. The Hawks are locked into the 10th seed in the East and a road game at Chicago in the Play-In Tournament, so it makes little sense to rush Murray back against the Wolves if he's still feeling the effects of that heavy workload. That holds even more true given that Young is back in the lineup after recovering from a finger injury. Bogdan Bogdanovic will likely continue to start if Murray sits.
Confirmed Lineup: Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert
Anthony Edwards (illness) — In
Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) — In
Jaylen Clark (Achilles) — Injured
Towns is expected to return to the lineup on Friday, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. He was officially upgraded to questionable by the Wolves as he recovers from a torn left meniscus. Towns has been thorough in his rehab and impressed coaches and teammates with his early recovery. Assuming he does play against the Hawks, he will likely be limited, as he's been sidelined since March 4 after undergoing surgery on his knee. His return will likely revert Naz Reid to a bench role.
Confirmed Lineup: Jamal Murray, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic
Nikola Jokic (hip) — In

Aaron Gordon (foot) — In
Michael Porter Jr. (quad) — In
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) — In
Zeke Nnaji (adductor) — Available
Vlatko Cancar (knee) — Injured
Although all five of the Nuggets' starters are listed probable Friday, Denver is still very incentivized to win games and secure the top seed in the West, so expect all five to play their usual minutes as long as the game against San Antonio remains competitive. Coach Malone ran a nine-man rotation with Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, Reggie Jackson, and Justin Holiday off the bench that should mirror what we'll see from them in the playoffs.
Confirmed Lineup: Tre Jones, Blake Wesley, Julian Champagnie, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Victor Wembanyama

Ja Morant (shoulder) — Out for season
With 13 players ruled out, the Grizzlies will be at exactly the NBA minimum of eight active players against the Lakers, assuming Goodwin is activated after sitting out on Wednesday. Pippen Jr., GG Jackson, LaRavia, and Jemison should have huge workloads on Friday. Goodwin, Zavier Simpson, Timmy Allen, and Jack White will also log rotation minutes.
Confirmed Lineup: Patrick Beverley, Malik Beasley, Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez
Damian Lillard (adductor) — Out
Khris Middleton (injury management) — Available

The secondhand additions of Middleton, Lopez, and Portis to the injury report are a clear indication that the Bucks are leaning toward mass rest for this game against the Thunder. The Knicks' win over Boston on Thursday brought them one game behind Milwaukee in the standings, but the Bucks have clinched that tiebreaker, effectively giving them a two-game lead for the second seed. Milwaukee would have to lose out with the Knicks winning out in order for the Knicks to jump the Bucks in the standings. However, the Knicks have the easier remaining schedule with home games against the Nets and Bulls compared to Milwaukee's dates at Oklahoma City and at Orlando.
Confirmed Lineup: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Gordon Hayward, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren

Confirmed Lineup: Dante Exum, Tim Hardaway Jr., Derrick Jones Jr., PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford
Luka Doncic (ankle) — Out
Kyrie Irving (hamstring) — Out
Greg Brown III (personal) — Out
Dereck Lively II (knee) — Injured
The Mavericks are effectively locked into the fifth seed in the Western Conference and a matchup with the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs, making their final two games against the Pistons and the Thunder largely meaningless. It would make sense to give Doncic and Irving time off if needed for their bodies to recover ahead of the postseason. Doncic remains a distant underdog to Nikola Jokic in the MVP race, further reducing the motivation to potentially play him in this contest. Dante Exum, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Josh Green could all pick up extra minutes if Doncic sits against Detroit.
Confirmed Lineup: Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith Jr., Jock Landale
Fred VanVleet (hip) — Out
Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) — Injured
Alperen Sengun (ankle, knee) — Out for season
Tari Eason (leg) — Out for season
Steven Adams (knee) — Out for season
With the Rockets eliminated from postseason play and on the second half of a back-to-back Friday, coach Udoka expressed some uncertainty ahead of Thursday's game that his veterans would play down the stretch: "We've discussed a few things. It depends on if we sit a few vets. Still to be determined."
Confirmed Lineup: Scoot Henderson, Rayan Rupert, Kris Murray, Jabari Walker, Deandre Ayton
Dalano Banton (ankle) — Available
Justin Minaya (finger) — Available
Jerami Grant (hamstring) — Out
Anfernee Simons (knee) — Out

Confirmed Lineup: CJ McCollum, Herb Jones, Trey Murphy III, Zion Williamson, Jonas Valanciunas
Larry Nance Jr. (personal) — Out
Naji Marshall (shoulder) — Out
Brandon Ingram (knee) — Injured
Ingram is expected to return to play in Sunday's season finale against the Lakers, per Chris Haynes of TNT and Bleacher Report. Ingram has missed 11 straight games since his last appearance on March 21. He would likely be limited in his return to action, especially if the Pelicans' seed in the postseason is already known heading into Sunday's game.
Confirmed Lineup: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Trayce Jackson-Davis
Draymond Green (knee) — Available
Klay Thompson (knee) — Available
Jonathan Kuminga (pelvis) — Out
Gary Payton II (calf) — Out

Confirmed Lineup: Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Grayson Allen, Kevin Durant, Jusuf Nurkic
Damion Lee (knee) — Injured
Coach Vogel made a starting lineup switch on Wednesday, replacing Allen with Royce O'Neale ahead of a game at the Clippers. O'Neale finished with 15 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in 33 minutes. Allen scored six points in 23 minutes off the bench. After the game, Vogel said that he planned to go back to Allen in this contest. The Suns are one back of New Orleans for the pivotal sixth seed in the Western Conference and have already clinched the tiebreaker over the Pelicans.
Confirmed Lineup: De'Aaron Fox, Keon Ellis, Harrison Barnes, Keegan Murray, Domantas Sabonis
Jordan Ford (hip) — Not on injury report
JaVale McGee (illness) — Not on injury report
Malik Monk (knee) — Injured

The Kings lost their second game in a row on Thursday with a defeat to the Pelicans, dropping them into a three-way tie with the Warriors and Lakers and ensuring they will be in the Play-In Tournament. All three clubs are 45-35 entering play on Friday.

Collin Sexton (illness) — Out
Jordan Clarkson (back) — Out
John Collins (back) — Out
Walker Kessler (nose) — Out

James Harden (foot) — In
Paul George (knee) — Not on injury report
Russell Westbrook (hand) — Not on injury report
Kawhi Leonard (knee) — Out
Josh Primo (ankle) — Out
The Clippers were conservative on Wednesday in managing workloads for their veterans as the team is all but locked into the fourth seed in the Western Conference. They'll face the Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs. Even if George, Harden, or Westbrook are officially active on Friday, coach Lue has little incentive to play them significant minutes. By way of comparison, Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac were both active on Wednesday but were both DNP-CDs. Terance Mann played just eight minutes from the starting lineup. Bones Hyland, Brandon Boston Jr., and Amir Coffey should log significant workloads against the Jazz.
