The Sparks have won four straight and are in eighth place with nine games remaining. In August, Jordin Canada has averaged the most steals per game (3.2), the fourth-most assists per game (6.3), and the second-most minutes per game (36.8) league-wide. The Mercury started the month winning three of five with a top-five 99.5 defensive rating but have since cooled off. They've lost three straight including two losses against the Storm and Fever, during which they logged a league-worst 41.8% effective field-goal percentage.
