This is my absolute favorite fantasy football game, partially because I think the people who grind the hardest are the most likely to win. Hence why I quickly spun together some rankings for Underdog Fantasy's Way Too Early NFL Playoffs Best Ball tournament. The goal is to build a high scoring team for the eventual Super Bowl, with the catch being we still need to score enough points to advance in the Wild Card and Divisional rounds.
The first step in building quality rankings is to create Super Bowl appearance odds -- not odds to win the Super Bowl -- and to keep refreshing them after each week of the NFL season. I've listed them below, using consensus futures odds. If you believe a team has a better or worse chance than listed, then lean into those teams!
The tricky part will be handling the 1st seed in the AFC and the NFC, as we want to load up on those teams because of their high Super Bowl appearance odds, but can't go overboard as we need some damn Wild Card fantasy points, too. For now, the odds for a 1st-round bye are Chiefs (72%) and Bills (19%) in the AFC and Lions (65%) and Eagles (14%) in the NFC, per ESPN's models. I'd cap my Chiefs and Lions builds at max of 4 players to be safe and would lean toward some higher-scoring Wild Card talents with a chunk of the rest of my picks right now.
Anyways, here are my quick rankings heading into Week 11... Emphasis on quick... I spent about 30 minutes on these to get directionally accurate rankings... Make your own adjustments until I have more time to work on the details... Cool? Cool.
If the upload isn't working on Underdog, then check to make sure the column name is "id" instead of "ID" on your csv. And here is last year's final column with some strategy tips.
