2025 NFL Mock Draft - Hayden Winks' Final

Apr 24th 2025Hayden Winks

I love the draft. We'll be live on YouTube right after Day 1 of the draft to hand out grades based on my Top 100 NFL Draft Prospects. I ultimately projected 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 4 WRs (including Travis Hunter), 2 TEs, 7 OLs, 4 DTs, 6 EDGEs, 1 LB, 2 CBs (excluding Travis Hunter), and 2 Ss in this mock draft. I don't have Shedeur Sanders included because most analysts have firm Day 2 grades on his film and he may not be a locker room fit for other teams who might be more bullish than that.

1. Titans - QB1 Cam Ward

  • He's -20000 to go 1st overall.

2. Browns - WR1 Travis Hunter

  • I think he'll be announced as a wide receiver, too. Let's draft him aggressively in Best Ball Mania. Hunter dominated at receiver despite being an average route runner without the entire playbook, so let's see what he can do with more focus on offense. Browns GM Andrew Berry can't stop comparing him to Hall of Fame talents, and I would do if I was lucky enough to be drafting him. He's -900 to go 2nd overall.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Carter, QB Sanders, QB Dart.

3. Giants - EDGE1 Abdul Carter

  • Adding a third speed rusher type is not ideal, but they can rotate, provide insurance to one another, or be used in the trade market (Kayvon Thibodeaux in particular). Carter is just too good of a prospect to pass up versus everyone else in the class. He's -650 to go 3rd overall.

  • Other Fits: QB Dart, QB Sanders.

4. Patriots - OL1 Will Campbell

  • New HC Mike Vrabel's press conferences have a consistent theme: they're establishing a culture. They obviously want great players, too, but he repeatedly talks about making a locker room and community impact. It's not a surprise given his history and some of the misses the Titans made when he wasn't making the selections. Vrabel also confirmed that they view Campbell, who is a great dude by all reports and "knocked it out of the part" during his 30 visit, as a left tackle first despite his short arms and outlier skinny frame. I think there is risk in this selection, but there are no sure-fire answers in this class. I could see LT Kelvin Banks Jr. (who checks the same boxes as Campbell), RT Armand Membou, or EDGE Jalon Walker being picked here, too. The markets disagree, as Campbell is -400 to go 4th overall.

  • Other Fits: RT Membou, LT Banks, EDGE Walker, WR McMillan.

5. Bears (via JAX) - RB1 Ashton Jeanty

  • New HC Ben Johnson watched the Lions do their own thing in regards to positional value, and GM Ryan Poles has been very aggressive over the year while also ignoring consensus rankings. Moving up for Jeanty will be debated, but they at least already addressed their IOL via trades this offseason. Chicago also has two 2nd-round picks to move up.

  • Jaguars get 10th and 41st overall, while trading away 5th and 107th overall.

6. Raiders - OL2 Kelvin Banks

  • The trenches need to be established for Geno Smith to have time to throw the ball reliably and for the Chip Kelly rushing offense to take off. Banks might be a guard long term and likely starts out there in 2025, but he also meets LT measurables and played there in college. That could come in handy with LT Kolton Miller holding out in the final year of his deal. It's not a surprise that The Athletic's Vic Tafur said Banks is ranked ahead of RT Armand Membou, as the Raiders do have 3rd-round RT DJ Glaze on a rookie deal. The Raiders had Banks in for an official visit.

  • Other Fits: RB Jeanty, DT Graham, WR McMillan, OT Membou.

7. Jets - OL3 Armand Membou

  • Justin Fields is unplayable if he's pressured, and the Jets don't have a legitimate RT Morgan Moses replacement. New HC Aaron Glenn saw what Penei Sewell did for the offense, and Membou has similar athleticism even if he's not quite as polished yet. Membou is 6th in consensus rankings.

  • Other Fits: TE Warren, WR McMillan, RB Jeanty.

8. Panthers - EDGE2 Jalon Walker

  • The Athletic's Joe Person recently mocked fellow Georgia EDGE Mykel Williams here, but Walker is ranked a tier higher in consensus rankings (8th vs. 13th overall) and checks plenty of boxes at the same position. Carolina is looking to build a culture, and everyone loves Walker. He also has off-ball experience, which'll be appreciated by GM Dan Morgan who played backer in the NFL. Walker's lack of size means he'll have to be deployed creatively by highly-respected DC Ejiro Evero. Walker also happened to grow up in the Carolinas. They had him in for an official visit.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Williams, EDGE Green, TE Warren, WR McMillan.

9. Saints - EDGE3 Mykel Williams

  • New Orleans has interest in these QBs--they have to without Derek Carr--but they may go best player available here and then work up the board like they've done repeatedly under GM Mickey Loomis to get closer to Dart's 36th overall consensus ranking. It's on my radar that Neworleans.Football's Nick Underhill and Mike Triplett didn't even mention Dart while going through scenarios for 9th overall. Meanwhile, the trenches are getting dried up with retirees and busts on both sides of the ball. Williams would learn from Cam Jordan this year before being their franchise EDGE rusher. He can defend the run well and has the body to eventually be a high-end pass rusher. The 20-year-old is 13th in consensus rankings with rumors of going even earlier than that. The Saints had him in for an official visit.

  • Other Fits: QB Dart, TE Warren, EDGE Stewart, CB Johnson.

10. Jaguars (via CHI) - WR2 Tetairoa McMillan

  • Reports say Jacksonville wants an offensive player, which checks out when you hire a 34-year-old GM and an offensive minded HC. Which player? It could be RB Ashton Jeanty, OG/T Kelvin Banks, TE Tyler Warren, or WR McMillan. I found it odd that the same line kept creeping up from different reporters about finding size at WR because Trevor Lawrence was used to that at Clemson. The front office also didn't mention Gabe Davis as a target in the offense, leaving tiny WRs Parker Washington and Dyami Brown as 3-WR set starters. I know McMillan isn't for everyone personality wise, but he's passed the Jaguars cognitive tests and is an analytics-based selection, especially after trading down.

  • Other Fits: TE Warren, TE Loveland, WR Golden, DT Graham.

11. 49ers - DT1 Mason Graham

  • San Francisco doesn't wait around when they have a need at DT or EDGE. It's why they've spent so many picks on those positions in Round 1 over the years. Well, it's time dip back into the well here. I feel like we were gaslit about how great of a prospect Graham was based on his lackluster traits and good (not great) production. This range feels far more appropriate than the top 5 to me. If they go with an edge rusher instead, expect them to hunt for size so they can set the edge. Both Mykel Williams and Shemar Stewart come to mind, but there are also some Round 2 EDGE rushers who fit the bill. I don't see a pass-rushing DT available then.

  • Other Fits: DT Nolen, DT Harmon, EDGE Stewart, EDGE Green.

12. Cowboys - WR1 Matthew Golden

  • Everyone agrees Dallas needs a pass catcher and corner, and there are more issues with the corner prospects than the pass catchers. I think they'd love Tetairoa McMillan, but Golden would also work next to CeeDee Lamb as a vertical outside option.

  • Other Fits: TE Warren, CB Johnson, CB Barron, TE Loveland.

13. Dolphins - CB1 Jahdae Barron

  • Miami's secondary and offensive line are a mess, but after the top OTs were picked apart, it's leaning towards secondary options as the best available options. Will Johnson is a scheme fit and potential Jalen Ramsey replacement, but he's dealing with multiple injuries and opted out of the forty. I project he sides beyond his consensus ranking. The safeties would also fit nicely with Jevon Holland gone, but they sit too low in consensus rankings. Meanwhile, Barron is getting steamed up board repeatedly with love from both Daniel Jeremiah and Scouts Inc grading him inside the top-11 players. Barron has experience at nickel and outside.

  • Other Fits: CB Johnson, S Emmanwori, S Starks, OG Zabel, DT Harmon.

14. Colts - TE1 Tyler Warren

  • Indianapolis is absolutely not a tight end away, but this qualifies as a best player available selection (9th overall in consensus rankings) and it is a team need. Warren's skill set would provide Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones with a manufactured touch player underneath and over the middle. Whether they can complete those passes is a whole other issue, but he does simplify the Colts' offense after a way too boom-bust performance in 2024.

  • Other Fits: TE Loveland, LB Campbell, S Emmanwori, OL Simmons, OL Zabel.

15. Falcons - EDGE5 Mike Green

  • This has to be a defensive player, right? Specifically a pass rusher, right? Well, the run has started and we're running out of options. Todd McShay has heard the Falcons are okay with the character guys at EDGE. While Green hasn't had any official top 30 visits, there were two front offices that did go to his Pro Day: Atlanta and Washington. Head coach Raheem Morris was the headliner at the Marshall Pro Day.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Stewart, EDGE Pearce, CB Johnson, DT Nolen, DT Harmon.

16. Cardinals - CB2 Will Johnson

  • Arizona was busy in free agency, brining in EDGE Josh Sweat, DT Calais Campbell, and NT Dalvin Tomlinson on meaningful contracts. They could easily double dip at those positions with players listed below, but they absolutely need a LB and CB. The top available players at each position are both injured--LB Jihaad Campbell and Johnson--but both are great scheme fits. Johnson's lack of speed can be hidden a bit more in the 2nd-most zone heavy defense in the league. Johnson is 12th in consensus rankings but likely falls due to injuries and scheme fits. The Cardinals had him in for an official visit.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Stewart, DT Harmon, DT Nolen, DT Grant.

17. Bengals - DT2 Walter Nolen

  • The "clear cut" candidates according to Bengals' experts Joe Goodberry and Jake Liscow are Kelvin Banks (gone), Derrick Harmon (medicals), and Nolen. Cincy needs more pass-rush juice and have invested far more into edge than on the interior. Nolen's first step juice is arguably the best in the class as long as the motor and strength check out. They had him in for an official visit.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Stewart, S Emmanwori, S Starks, OG Booker.

18. Seahawks - TE2 Colston Loveland

  • Seattle needs more pass-catching juice after trading away DK Metcalf, and Loveland is easily the top option for it if he's healthy. I would've had him go even earlier if his shoulder injury didn't exist. Loveland moves incredibly well for a 6-foot-6 target, and he'd be a good fit for the play-action offense new OC Klint Kubiak runs, which features plenty of 2-TE sets.

  • Other Fits: OG Zabel, LB Campbell, S Starks.

19. Buccaneers - LB1 Jihaad Campbell

  • Campbell ranks 17th overall in consensus and could go even earlier than that if his shoulder injury checks out. There are concerns there, so who knows? If he clears, Campbell would be excellent in Tampa Bay next to the aging Lavonte David in a blitz-heavy scheme. Campbell was the top edge rusher recruit in high school, routinely chased down QBs as a spy/blitzer, and can cover a ton of ground in zone. He's awesome to watch, and this is the defense to fully unlock his talents.

  • Other Fits: CB Barron, EDGE Stewart, S Starks.

20. Broncos - RB2 Omarion Hampton

  • Type in "Hampton from:AllbrightNFL" and you can see how often the Broncos insider has brought him up as a target. It checks out based on their roster, and HC Sean Payton's offseason remarks. Hampton as the bellcow, Jaleel McLaughlin as the change of pace, and Audric Estime as the RB3. That's a complementary backfield. Hampton is 23rd in consensus rankings.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Green, EDGE Stewart, EDGE Ezeiruaku, RB Williams.

21. Steelers - QB2 Jaxson Dart

  • Long-time Steelers reporter Gerry Dulac reports that the team has a 1st-round grade on Dart, but they are also deeply looking into DL and RB. They don't have a 2nd-round pick, but they are lucky in that DT, EDGE, and RB are really deep this year, so they can fill a need in the 3rd and 4th rounds. I don't see an answer at QB beyond this pick, especially if Aaron Rodgers is considering retirement while their on the clock. Schematically, Dart is a great fit for OC Arthur Smith's play-action offense and the downfield WRs on the roster. Dart is 36th in consensus rankings, but Starbucks' Jordan Schultz wrote, "Several sources have indicated he won't fall out of the first round." Quickly on Shedeur Sanders. Long-time reporter Aaron Wilson said he heard Sanders will not be a Steeler after their interview with him, and the quotes from NFL execs/coaches from Tom Pelissero were pretty damning, both on and off the field.

  • Other Fits: DT Harmon, QB Sanders, DT Grant.

22. Chargers - DT3 Kenneth Grant

  • There are three Wolverines squarely in play, two of whomsth are dealing with injuries in CB Will Johnson (gone) and Loveland. The 21-year-old pass catcher ranks 8th on my board but is recovering from shoulder surgery and could slide well beyond my ranking. The Chargers had him in for an official visit, perhaps just to give his old coach a big hug. We've seen what OC Greg Roman did for Mark Andrews before. I think Loveland is even better. If he's not available, then DT Kenneth Grant would be an excellent scheme fit after losing NT Poona Ford despite a competitive offer.

  • Other Fits: DT Grant, EDGE Stewart, EDGE Ezeiruaku.

23. Packers - EDGE6 Shemar Stewart

  • Green Bay has a type. All traits, even if it comes with less production. See Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness. Nobody fits that bill more than Stewart, who they had in for an official visit. He was also coached by the Packers EDGE coach at the Senior Bowl according to Packers analyst Justis Mosqueda, who loves Stewart in general.

  • Other Fits: OT Simmons, EDGE Ezeiruaku, OT Conerly.

24. Vikings - DT4 Derrick Harmon

  • Without this newly-reported shoulder injury, Harmon was a potential top-12 selection and was my personal DT1 in the class. Now? Who knows? The Vikings only have 4 draft picks, so they'd only stay put for the perfect prospect. If their staff clears him, he absolutely is. He'd help solve their issue of creating a pass rush without a blitz and he's a versatile player who can line up from 0- to 5-tech. They had him in for an official visit.

  • Other Fits: OG Zabel, S Starks, CB Amos, CB Hairston.

25. Texans - OL4 Tyler Booker

  • New OC Nick Caley comes from the Rams, who pivoted towards girth on the OL in recent offseasons. That's exactly Booker, who won't be for everyone based on scheme fit (needs gap schemes, not wide zone). There's also an Alabama connection with HC DeMeco Ryans. This OL room has been looking for better character, and Booker was a leader for the Tide. Don't be surprised if they look for interior players this draft even though the headline move was trading away LT Laremy Tunsil. They look to be somehow worse inside than at tackle right now. Booker is 32nd overall in consensus rankings.

  • Other Fits: OT Simmons, OG Zabel, WR Egbuka, OT Conerly.

26. Rams - OT5 Josh Simmons

  • The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue projects the Rams' first pick will be a skill guy or offensive linemen, and she went out of her way to mention Simmons on NFL Daily with Gregg Rosenthal because he could be the answer at RT behind old/injured Rob Havenstein. Simmons played LT at Ohio State but was a RT at San Diego State. CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reports that Simmons' torn patella rechecks came back clean, all things considered given it's a very serious injury. I'd rank him 4th overall if he was fully healthy.

  • Rams Fits: OG Zabel, WR Egbuka, OT Conerly, OG Booker.

27. Ravens - S1 Malaki Starks

  • When Baltimore's defense is humming, they are very multiple in their coverages with a lot of versatility in their back seven. Starks isn't the perfect prospect in terms of athleticism, but he did where a bunch of hats as a Georgia Bulldog, ranging from deep safety, to box safety, to press-man coverage nickel. He can leave the latter two largely to the more physical Kyle Hamilton and alleviate tiny Ar'Darius Washington from his starting job in the back half.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Ezeiruaku, OG Zabel, WR Egbuka.

28. Lions - OL6 Grey Zabel

  • He's the only potential 1st-rounder with an official Lions visit that we know about, and it makes sense. The NDSU left tackle projects as a guard (or maybe center) in the pros, and the Lions have an open spot there for the first time in a bit. It's been a priority position for this regime.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Ezeiruaku, OG Jackson, EDGE Scourton.

29. Commanders - EDGE6 Donovan Ezeiruaku

  • Washington is an intangibles-based team who has leaned on analytics since changing ownership. Ezeiruaku checks both boxes at a major team need, which is why they had him in for an official visit. It's shocking how bad their edge rusher group is right now, and Ezeiruaku is ready to play right away. He has polished moves, length, and motor. He just needs to get stronger to be a better all-around player.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Pearce, CB Hairston, CB Amos, LB Schwesinger.

30. Bills - S2 Nick Emmanwori

  • Nobody aced the NFL Combine as much as Emmanwori did. It almost assured him as a Round 1 selection, but finding a home for him proved more difficult than expected for two reasons. First, he's a safety and there are a ton of DL/OL players who have priority for teams. Second, he's got a lot of work before turning into a reliable player on tape, which is why I didn't have him inside my top-32 prospects. The Bills can't be picky sitting this low with their safety depth chart. He could be used in the box as a chess piece for HC Sean McDermott's defense.

  • Other Fits: CB Amos, CB Hairston, EDGE Pearce.

31. Chiefs - OL7 Josh Conerly Jr.

  • They've already had 7 visits on offensive linemen, and I'm not convinced the Jaylon Smith contract from this offseason is enough to ignore LT in the draft. Conerly has the athleticism and length of a long-term answer for Patrick Mahomes, but he does need to get stronger to be an above-average starter. He'd compete with Smith as he hits the weight room.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Ezeiruaku, EDGE Pearce, RB Henderson.

32. Eagles - WR4 Emeka Egbuka

  • Philadelphia wants to find a defensive linemen, but the consensus 1st rounders didn't fall and there's an uncommon amount of depth at both DT and EDGE on Day 2. Instead, they go best player available (25th in consensus rankings). Egbuka is one of the safest players in the draft because he's polished, big, a willing blocker, and a reliable receiver who has seen it all. He's a major upgrade over slot WR Jahan Dotson and great insurance behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, especially if Dallas Goedert isn't long for the team. In a weak draft, I'd be floored if Egbuka isn't a top-32 player.

  • Other Fits: EDGE Pearce, CB Hairston, TE Taylor, EDGE Scourton.

Other Round 1 Candidates

  • Just missed: QB Shedeur Sanders, EDGE James Pearce Jr., CB Maxwell Hairston, CB Trey Amos.

  • Longer shots: WR Luther Burden III, OG Donovan Jackson, TE Mason Taylor, RB TreVeyon Henderson, EDGE Nic Scourton, CB Shavon Revel Jr., LB Carson Schwesinger, QB Jalen Milroe, QB Tyler Shough.
