My Primer on the 2025 NFL Free Agency class is out and we've already imagined 8 NFL trades that could go down this month, but before we go any further, let's lock in on the team needs for every NFL team. Others will just list "OL" or "defense". I'll put in the work to find out specifically if it's a RG or LG, a box safety or a free safety, hell I'll even let you know what styled slot WR each coordinator is likely to target. Hopefully this helps us in my quest to have the best mock draft of all time ... just to get Josh Norris mad on the internet.
Teams are ordered by the 2025 NFL Draft order.
QB: Brian Callahan believes Will Levis only needs to change everything to make it. The two questions to ask: 1) Is EDGE Abdul Carter a much better prospect than Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, and 2) Is Callahan patient enough for a rookie QB dice roll or is a Derek Carr veteran more likely to save his job.
Outside WR: There's nobody beyond 31yo Calvin Ridley, who doesn't have guaranteed money in 2026. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is a free agent. Treylon Burks is a trade candidate.
RG: Dillon Radunz is a free agent.
RT: They had a fantasy analyst as their starter, before he was benched. I wish this was a joke, but it's a real thing. I'd imagine Brian Callahan will keep handing his dad, OL coach Bill, more talent on the offensive line to work with.
EDGE: They were 28th in pressure rate without a blitz (26%).
Slot WR: Tyler Boyd is a free agent.
3-Tech DT: Sebastian Joseph-Day is a free agent, but the Titans do have a nasty 1-2 duo in Jeffrey Simmons and T'Vondre Sweat. This is a 3-technique for depth.
LB: Jerome Baker is a free agent, and starter Jack Gibbens broke his ankle in November.
2024 OFF stats: Pass EPA (27th), Pressure Rate (22nd), Rush EPA (29th).
2024 DEF stats: Pass EPA (26th), Pressure Rate (28th), Rush EPA (23rd).
QB: They don't have money to spend thanks to Deshaun Watson, so the options are mostly a rookie-contract QB or an extremely cheap veteran like cut-candidate Kirk Cousins, who spent time with Kevin Stefanski in Minnesota.
LT: Jedrick Wills is a free agent.
Slot WR: Elijah Moore is a free agent, and they successfully moved Jerry Jeudy to the outside.
RB: Nick Chubb is a free agent and dealing with too many injuries to rely on. It's just Jerome Ford right now.
EDGE: This vaults to the 2nd biggest need if Myles Garrett is traded. Contractually, it's a difficult trade for the Browns to make. We walked through the mechanics of a trade here:
OFF stats: Pass EPA (32nd), Pressure Rate (28th), Rush EPA (27th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (20th), Pressure Rate (2nd), Rush EPA (16th).
QB: Everyone understands.
Outside WR: Malik Nabers averaged +0.34 EPA per target. Targets to the non-Nabers WRs on the Giants last year averaged +0.04. Compare that to the NFL-wide WR average of +0.36. Darius Slayton is a free agent opening up outside WR snaps.
CB: Adoree Jackson is a free agent, and Cor'Dale Flott is a below-average starter, while 2023 1st-rounder Deonte Banks has had more downs than ups despite elite athleticism.
RG: Greg Van Roten is a free agent.
FS: Jason Pinnock is a free agent, and they were terrible against the pass as a unit.
LB: They have a 5th-rounder starting next to Bobby Okereke.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (31st), Pressure Rate (29th), Rush EPA (23rd).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (29th), Pressure Rate (19th), Rush EPA (18th).
RT: They started a 2023 UDFA. It didn't work.
LT: They started a 2022 6th-rounder. It didn't work.
Outside WR(s): Rookies Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker were total negatives, and it's not like Kayshon Boutte or Kendrick Bourne are answers either. This was the least-bankable receiver group in the NFL. I'm not sure it was close either.
DT: Christian Barmore has flashed elite traits, but he only played 4 games due to blood clots in 2024. After expecting to miss the entire season, Barmore played from Weeks 11-15 before going back to NFI for reoccuring symptoms. Beyond that very scary situation, the Patriots also have Deatrich Wise and Daniel Ekuale as free agents.
Outside CB: Jonathon Jones is a free agent. Luckily, Christian Gonzalez played at a Pro Bowl level in his return from a torn ACL.
EDGE: They were 31st in pressure rate without a blitz (25%), even though 25-year-old Keion White has flashed.
LG and/or C: 32-year-old C David Andrews played 4 games (shoulder) and is on an expiring deal next season. They slid 2022 surprise 1st-round LG Cole Strange to C in the final 2 games as an experiment after he came back from a torn patellar tendon.
New OC (Josh McDaniels) and DC (Terrell Williams via Mike Vrabel).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (23rd), Pressure Rate (31st), Rush EPA (30th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (30th), Pressure Rate (31st), Rush EPA (20th).
RG: Brandon Scherff is a free agent.
Outside CB: They have a 7th-rounder starting, and ex-1st rounder Tyson Campbell has played just 23 games in the last two years due to injuries.
FS: Deep zone safety Andre Cisco is a free agent.
DT: They were 25th in pressure rate without a blitz (30%), despite having Jones Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. The more-likely investment to fix that problem is on the interior.
C: 32-year-old Mitch Morse is on an expiring contract and declining.
New OC (Grant Udinski via Liam Coen) and DC (Anthony Campanile).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (22nd), Pressure Rate (3rd), Rush EPA (14th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (32nd), Pressure Rate (25th), Rush EPA (22nd).
QB: Owner Al Davis said Tom Brady will have a huge say in finding the next franchise signal caller. Is the interim a Pete Carroll to Russell Wilson reunion? Or do the Raiders immediately head to the NFL Draft with Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders possibly in range.
LB: Robert Spillane is a free agent.
SS: Tre'von Moehrig is a free agent.
FS: Marcus Epps is a a free agent after playing just 3 games.
Slot CB: PFF handed them the worst coverage grade, by far, although key injuries played into that. Slot CB Nate Hobbs is a free agent, as is his backup Darnay Holmes.
RB: New OC Chip Kelly is a run-game specialist, and this current corps is nowhere near good enough. Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah are free agents.
RT: 3rd-round rookie DJ Glaze struggled (12% pressures).
WR(s): Jakobi Meyers is versatile, so they can go with a strict slot WR or another outside WR to pair with 3rd-rounder Tre Tucker. EIther way, they need to find a 3rd pass-catcher beyond Meyers and Brock Bowers.
EDGE: K'Lavon Chaisson and Malcolm Koonce (ACL) are free agents.
New OC (Chip Kelly).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (28th), Pressure Rate (18th), Rush EPA (32nd).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (18th), Pressure Rate (23rd), Rush EPA (14th).
QB: Aaron Rodgers is a retirement candidate, and if he wants to play, the new leadership is likely to release Rodgers anyways.
Outside CB: Stud D.J. Reed and depth piece Brandon Echols are free agents, and we've seen the Lions be picky when assessing corners for Aaron Glenn's defense. The vision is near league-high rates in man coverage. Re-signing Reed does check that box. Sauce Gardner and Reed are one of the best outside duos.
RT: Morgan Moses is a free agent.
WR: Davante Adams is a cut candidate, and gadget slot Malachi Corley finished with 3 catches as a rookie. There's next to nothing behind Garrett Wilson, who has somehow ended up in trade speculation.
SS: Chuck Clark is a free agent.
FS: Jalen Mills and Ashyton Davis are free agents.
Slot CB: Isaiah Oliver is a free agent.
TE: Tyler "Conk Daddy" Conklin is a free agent.
EDGE: Hasson Reddick is a free agent.
New OC (Tanner Engstrand) and DC (Steve Wilks via Aaron Glenn).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (19th), Pressure Rate (11th), Rush EPA (20th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (25th), Pressure Rate (9th), Rush EPA (21st).
CB(s): Mike Jackson and his backups are free agents (and bad). There's nothing behind Pro Bowler Jaycee Horn (54% career games).
EDGE: After trading Brian Burns for salary relief and draft capital, the Panthers were 32nd in pressure rate without a blitz (23%).
FS(s): Xavier Woods is a free agent, as are the 3 safeties behind him on the depth chart.
DT: One of the worst run defenses I've ever seen.
WR: Adam Thielen was their best receiver last year, by far. We'll see if he plays another year, but the Saints are building for the future still. Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker had some flashes as rookie, though aren't proven needle movers. Coker has some inside/outside versatility, so slot or outside receivers are welcomed. Carolina won't be picky.
TE: Tommy Tremble and Ian Thomas are free agents. They'll need a blocker type to pair with Ja'Tavion Sanders.
C: Austin Corbett and versatile backup Brady Christensen are free agents. Ex-6th rounder Cade Mays played aight in relief.
LT: We'll see how patient they'll be with 2022 1st-rounder Ikem Ekwonu (11% pressure).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (26th), Pressure Rate (14th), Rush EPA (11th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (31st), Pressure Rate (32nd), Rush EPA (32nd).
CB: Paulson Adebo broke his femur and is a free agent. They just traded Marshon Lattimore.
EDGE: Chase Young and Payton Turner are free agents. Cameron Jordan is 36 years old.
QB: Derek Carr is a trade candidate, and if not traded, he's definitely not part of the Saints' future when they eventually dig themselves out of his cap disaster. If they really want to tank it up, then Spencer Rattler is the fall back.
WR: Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a free agent, and Chris Olave (concussions) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) are coming off injuries as undersized players.
LG: Lucas Patrick is a free agent.
RT: Trevor Penning had a 12% pressure rate.
TE: Juwan Johnson is a free agent, and Taysom Hill tore his ACL and other ligaments in December. His run is likely over in New Orleans with outside-the-building play designers coming in.
LB: Demario Davis is 36 years old but under contract.
New OC (??? via Kellen Moore) and DC (???).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (30th), Pressure Rate (19th), Rush EPA (10th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (12th), Pressure Rate (18th), Rush EPA (29th).
LG: Teven Jenkins is a free agent.
RG: Matt Pryor is a free agent.
C: Coleman Shelton is a free agent.
WR: Keenan Allen is a free agent, but Rome Odunze does have the potential to turn into a power slot if the team falls in love with another outside receiver. If not, the missing piece is an underneath option route runner from the slot. It's at least something HC Ben Johnson had in Amon-Ra.
LT: Braxton Jones broke his ankle.
RB: Ben Johnson and D'Andre Swift have history, and it's not great. Meanwhile, Roschon Johnson has stagnated as a depth piece only.
EDGE: Darrell Taylor is a free agent.
New OC (Declan Doyle via Ben Johnson) and DC (Dennis Allen).
OFF stats: Passing EPA (25th), Pressure Rate (15th), Rush EPA (28th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (9th), Pressure Rate (6th), Rush EPA (26th).
DT: Javon Hargrave is a free agent, and this is a position they really value.
Outside CB: Charvarius Ward is a free agent.
LG: Aaron Banks is a free agent.
LB: Dre Greenlaw is a free agent.
SS: Talanoa Hufanga is a free agent.
RT: Colton McKivitz can be replaced.
C: 33-year-old Jake Brendel can be replaced.
New DC (Robert Saleh).
OFF stats: Passing EPA (10th), Pressure Rate (8th), Rush EPA (12th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (19th), Pressure Rate (10th), Rush EPA (28th).
DT: Osa Odighizuwa is a free agent, but Mazi Smith did look a bit better in year two at least.
EDGE: Demarcus Lawrence is a free agent.
Outside WR: Brandin Cooks is a free agent.
RB: Rico Dowdle is a free agent. They literally don't have anyone above 5'8".
LB: DeMarvion Overshown (knee dislocation) is out for 2025 most likely. Eric Kendricks is a free agent.
RG: Zack Martin is a free agent and retirement candidate.
Outside CB: Trevon Diggs knee injury is not a normal one. It's far more serious. Bone graft needed for a microfracture issue. I'm not expecting to see him early in 2025, if at all.
Slot CB: Jourdan Lewis is a free agent.
New OC (Klayton Adams -- not Kay Adams -- via Brian Shottenheimer) and DC (Matt Eberflus).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (29th), Pressure Rate (6th), Rush EPA (26th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (13th), Pressure Rate (14th), Rush EPA (31st).
LG: Robert Jones is a free agent.
RG: Liam Eichenberg and Isaiah Wynn are free agents.
FS: Jevon Holland is a free agent.
SS: Jordan Poyer is a free agent.
DT(s): Nose taackle Benito Jones and 3-4 DT Calais Campbell are free agents.
LB: Tyrel Dodson and Anthony Walker are free agents.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (14th), Pressure Rate (17th), Rush EPA (31st).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (8th), Pressure Rate (21st), Rush EPA (13th).
RG: Will Fries and Mark Glowinski are free agents.
FS: Julian Blackmon is a free agent.
Outside CB: JuJu Brents is up-and-down as the CB1 and their CB2 is a 7th-rounder.
LB: E.J. Speed is a free agent.
TE(s): Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson are both free agents. That means they have a traditional and move TE on their to-do list.
QB: Anthony Richardson probably gets the first half of the year to show improvements, but they will probably at least have a quality backup plan just in case Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard need to save their jobs. Justin Fields would be the stylistic fit to keep the offense the same.
EDGE: Dayo Odeyingbo is a free agent. They need a big year two leap from Laiatu Latu because they were 29th in pressure rate without a blitz (25%).
New DC (Lou Anaromou).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (24th), Pressure Rate (7th), Rush EPA (15th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (21st), Pressure Rate (29th), Rush EPA (10th).
EDGE(s): Matt Judon is a free agent. They were 30th in pressure rate without a blitz (25%) with him on the roster.
Outside CB: Mike Hughes and Kevin King are free agents. A.J. Terrell needs a running mate.
FS: Justin Simmons and Grant Richie are free agents. Jessie Bates needs a running mate.
NT: Eddie Goldman and Kentavius Street are free agents.
C: Stud Drew Dalman is a free agent.
New DC (Jeff Ulbrich).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (16th), Pressure Rate (9th), Rush EPA (7th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (24th), Pressure Rate (30th), Rush EPA (17th).
3-4 OLB: They were 27th in pressure rate without a blitz (28%). Baron Browning is a free agent.
3-4 DE: L.J. Collier is a free agent.
LG: Evan Brown is a free agent.
NT: Roy Lopez is a free agent.
LB: Kyzir White is a free agent.
Slot WR: Respectfully Greg Dortch, I've seen enough.
RG: 3rd-round rookie Isaiah Adams isn't locked into the lineup.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (11th), Pressure Rate (5th), Rush EPA (8th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (22nd), Pressure Rate (27th), Rush EPA (24th).
WR: Tee Higgins is a free agent, although the franchise tag is a possibility.
Slot CB: Mike Hilton is a free agent.
DT: B.J. Hill is a free agent. They were 27th in pressure rate without a blitz (30%)
SS: The defensive back play simply wasn't good enough.
TE: Mike Gesicki is a free agent.
LB: 27th against the run.
New DC (Al Golden).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (6th), Pressure Rate (30th), Rush EPA (16th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (17th), Pressure Rate (26th), Rush EPA (27th).
LG: Laken Tomlinson is a free agent.
LB: Ernest Jones is a free agent.
DT: Jarran Reed is a free agent.
RG: Anthony Bradford is a free agent.
C: 5th-round rookie Olu Oluwatimi stepped into the lineup late in the year.
Outside CB: Josh Jobe is an UDFA starter.
Outside WR: Tyler Lockett is a cut candidate, leaving Jake Bobo as the primary replacement for now.
QB: Geno Smith is under contract, but the 35-year-old has $35M of this year's salary non-guaranteed and there's nothing beyond this season.
New OC (Klint Kubiak).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (20th), Pressure Rate (32nd), Rush EPA (25th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (10th), Pressure Rate (4th), Rush EPA (11th).
3-4 OLB(s): Anthony Nelson and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka are free agents.
LB(s): Lavonte David is a free agent. Their LB2 is a 5th rounder.
LG: Ben Bredeson is a free agent.
WR: Slot WR Chris Godwin is a free agent, but they do have Jalen McMillan as an inside-out option. They just need to upgrade their WR3 spot with Sterling Shepard a free agent.
New DC (Josh Grizzard).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (4th), Pressure Rate (2nd), Rush EPA (6th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (23rd), Pressure Rate (17th), Rush EPA (5th).
TE: As you'll see in the clip below, coach Sean Payton wants "a joker" which is an elite pass-catcher at either TE or RB that can take the mismatches against LBs and SSs over the middle of the field. They do not have one on the roster yet.
RB: Javonte Williams is a free agent, and they made rookie Audric Estime a healthy scratch late in the year. They can't only have Jaleel McLaughlin as a piece of this rotation.
LB: Cody Barton is a free agent.
SS: P.J. Locke is a UDFA starter on a non-guaranteed expiring contract.
NT: D.J. Jones is a free agent.
WR: It seems like less of a priority with Courtland Sutton as the alpha, Marvin Mims as the gadget explosive, and DeVaughn Vele and Troy Franklin battling for snaps beyond them. Still, they can use a young No. 1 receiver if they can find one.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (18th), Pressure Rate (1st), Rush EPA (17th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (1st), Pressure Rate (1st), Rush EPA (4th).
QB: Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are free agents. We'll see if the Steelers use a tag on Wilson, but that may be unnecessary if the rest of the league is out on him. The beat reporters keep changing their mind on which QB is likeliest to return. Of note, the Steelers said that they will likely commit to one of them only. I thought Russ was a tier better last year personally, but I do understand taking a swing on the younger option.
Outside CB: Donte Jackson is a free agent, and their other dart throws haven't panned out. Joey Porter needs another partner in crime.
Slot CB: Cam Sutton is a free agent and was a part of the blown coverage problems.
Outside WR: Van Jefferson and Mike Williams are free agents. Even if they weren't, this would be a spot to upgrade. George Pickens isn't reliable enough to be the lone target.
RB: Najee Harris is a free agent. Restricted FA Jaylen Warren will be back, but run-dominant OC Arthur Smith didn't take to him last year, though injuries could've played a part in that. Either way, the Falcons have RB snaps to fill. Smith has always had an elite back to feature for what it's worth.
RG: James Daniels is a free agent. They do have a 4th-rounder behind him.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (17th), Pressure Rate (25th), Rush EPA (24th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (11th), Pressure Rate (16th), Rush EPA (19th).
Outside CB(s): Kristian Fulton and Asante Samuel Jr. are free agents.
EDGE: Khalil Mack is a free agent, and Joey Bosa is a cut/trade candidate.
DT: Poona Ford, Morgan Cox, and Teair Tart are free agents.
C: Bradley Bozeman is a free agent.
Outside WR: Josh Palmer is a free agent, and Quentin Johnston remains unreliable and one-dimensional. Luckily, Ladd McConkey is so good that he can be treated as an outside receiver in some sets. For the most part, McConkey will be a do-all slot in 3-WR sets, however.
RB: J.K. Dobbins is a free agent and can't be fully relied on even as a penciled-in starter. From Week 3 on, he averaged just 3.7 yards on 177 carries while running behind an overrated run-based OL. This was an unacceptable rushing offense under run-based OC Greg Roman.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (15th), Pressure Rate (10th), Rush EPA (18th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (6th), Pressure Rate (22nd), Rush EPA (8th).
CB: Eric Stokes is a free agent, and Jaire Alexander is a cut/trade candidate.
IOL: Starting C Josh Myers is a free agent. They usually have positional versatility on the roster to replace, like in OT/OG/C Jordan Morgan.
EDGE: Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness didn't take the leap needed to leave this position alone.
Outside WR: Josh Jacobs said it best. Just ask the Lions and Vikings, who pressed these dudes to the sideline.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (9th), Pressure Rate (21st), Rush EPA (9th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (5th), Pressure Rate (20th), Rush EPA (9th).
RG: Dalton Risner is a free agent, and Kevin O'Connell said after their humiliating finish to the year that the OL didn't play well enough for Sam Darnold to succeed when it mattered most.
Outside CB(s): Byron Murphy and Stephon Gilmore are free agents. They have 2023 3rd-rounder Mekhi Blackmon coming off injury to potentially fill one spot.
FS(s): Camryn Bynum is a free agent. Harrison Smith is a free agent on the precipice of retirement.
RB: Aaron Jones and Cam Akers are free agents.
C: Garrett Bradburry is a cut candidate with no guaranteed money left.
LG: Blake Brandel is a cut candidate with no guaranteed money left.
OFF stats: Passing EPA (13th), Pressure Rate (27th), Rush EPA (22nd).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (2nd), Pressure Rate (7th), Rush EPA (1st).
Outside WR: Tank Dell (knee dislocation) is unlikely to play in 2025.
Slot WR: Stefon Diggs and Robert Woods are free agents.
DT: Folorunso Fatukasi is a free agent.
LB: This isn't a major need, but they have fringe starter talent here.
DB: Their starters all return, but all backups are free agents. Luckily, their starters are extremely versatile, so they can go from nickel to outside CBs or deep or box safeties.
RB: Dare Ogunbowale is a free agent, and they haven't trusted Dameon Pierce behind Joe Mixon.
New OC (Nick Caley).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (21st), Pressure Rate (26th), Rush EPA (21st).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (4th), Pressure Rate (11th), Rush EPA (7th).
LT: Alaric Jackson and Joseph Noteboom are free agents.
Outside WR: Demarcus Robinson, TuTu Atwell, and Tyler Johnson are free agents, and Cooper Kupp will be traded. It seems like Jordan Whittington is a fit for the slot, so a Puka Nacua running mate on the perimeter seems to be the exact need.
LB(s): Troy Reeder and Christian Rozeboom are free agents.
Outside CB: Akhello Whitershpoon is a free agent.
Slot CB: Quentin Lake can be upgraded.
QB: Matthew Stafford's contract needs adjusting, and Jimmy Garoppolo is a free agent. This is a team that can build for the future with a draft pick.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (12th), Pressure Rate (16th), Rush EPA (19th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (15th), Pressure Rate (7th), Rush EPA (25th).
LT: Ronnie Stanley is a free agent.
LG: Patrick Mekari is a free agent.
Outside CB: Brandon Stephens is a free agent. They have plus starters in All Pro caliber slot CB Marlon Humphrey and emerging 1st-round star Nate Wiggins, but most pass snaps have a 3rd CB on the field.
WR: Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are starters, but OC Todd Monken was more likely to use 3-WR sets than previous Ravens' play-callers and they don't have any depth. Flowers has inside/outside versatility, so either slot or outside receiver help will suffice. This would be especially important if slot TE Mark Andrews is traded like I hypothesized.
K: If the Ravens learn there is any credence to the Justin Tucker allegations, then he's gone. Even without them, there are football reasons to move on.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (1st), Pressure Rate (13th), Rush EPA (2nd).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (14th), Pressure Rate (13th), Rush EPA (6th).
LG: Kevin Zeitler is a free agent.
DT: Levi Onwuzurike is a free agent.
Outside WR: Tim Patrick and Allen Robinson are free agents.
Outside CB: Carlton Davis, Kindle Vildor, and Emmanuel Mosley are free agents. They might now feel comfortable with Amik Robertson on the outside and putting Ennis Rakestraw into the slot, however.
Swing OT: Dan Skipper is a free agent. They need some depth behind Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell. It's a bonus if they can run routes like Skipper.
New OC (John Morton) and DC (Kelvin Sheppard).
OFF stats: Pass EPA (3rd), Pressure Rate (20th), Rush EPA (4th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (7th), Pressure Rate (3rd), Rush EPA (12th).
EDGE: Dante Fowler and Clelin Ferrell are free agents.
Outside WR: Dyami Brown and Noah Brown are free agents.
LG: Nick Allegretti isn't good enough (8.5% pressures at guard).
SS: Jeremy Chinn is a free agent.
Slot CB: Noah Igbinoghene is a free agent.
LB: Bobby Wagner is a free agent, as are his backups. Frankie Luvu needs a run stopper.
Slot WR: Olamide Zaccheus is a free agent. We'll see if 3rd-rounder Luke McCaffrey is ready for more snaps.
TE: Zach Ertz is a free agent, but 2nd-rounder Ben Sinnott should be ready for more snaps.
LT: Cornelius Lucas is a free agent, but they have unproven 3rd-rounder Brandon Coleman available.
RG: Sam Cosmi tore his ACL in the NFL Playoffs, putting his 2025 season in doubt.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (5th), Pressure Rate (12th), Rush EPA (5th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (28th), Pressure Rate (15th), Rush EPA (30th).
Outside CB: Rasul Douglas is a free agent, and they can't play former 1st-rounder Kaiir Elam.
FS: Hicah Hyde retired, and the Bills were 31st in PFF's coverage grade despite having a decent outside CB1. Damar Hamlin is a free agent.
Outside WR: Amari Cooper and Mack Hollins are free agents. Khalil Shakir will man the slot, while Keon Coleman is a dirty-work outside option. They need a separator from the perimeter to maximize Josh Allen's arm.
LG: David Edwards is a fringe starter without guaranteed money on an expiring contract.
EDGE: They were 24th in pressure rate without a blitz (30%). Von Miller is a cut candidate and Dawaune Smoot is a free agent. They've hit a wall with the development of Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa.
DT: Backups Jordan Phillips and Austin Johnson are free agents.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (2nd), Pressure Rate (4th), Rush EPA (3rd).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (27th), Pressure Rate (24th), Rush EPA (3rd).
LT or LG: Will 2024 2nd-rounder Kingsley Suamatia be ready this time around? Or is Joe Thuney just going to be their permanent answer at LT? If Thuney is the LT, then the Chiefs need a new LG. I'm guessing they want to get Thuney back inside and will once again target a LT.
RG: Trey Smith is a free agent. That's great news for his great-great-grandchildren. Smith is about to get paid.
EDGE: Charles Omenihu is a free agent, and they didn't have a great answer behind George Karlaftis.
Outside WR: Hollywood Brown, DeAndre Hopkins, and JuJu Smith-Schuster are free agents, and Rashee Rice has both suspensions and a rare knee injury to worry about to begin the 2025 season.
DT: Tershawn Wharton is a free agent.
FS: Justin Reid is a free agent.
LB: Nick Bolton is a free agent.
RB: Kareem Hunt and Samaje Perine are free agents. WIll Isiah Pacheco look better than he did following his 2024 injury?
OFF stats: Pass EPA (8th), Pressure Rate (23rd), Rush EPA (13th).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (16th), Pressure Rate (12th), Rush EPA (15th).
EDGE: Josh Sweat is a free agent, and Bryce Huff was a healthy scratch in the Super Bowl. The good news is Nolan Smith is turning into a dog.
DT: Milton Williams is a free agent.
RG: Mekhi Becton is a free agent.
LB(s): All Pro Zach Baun is a free agent, and Nakobe Dean tore his patellar tendon in the NFL Playoffs.
WR: This isn't a player promised targets, nor does this player have a required skill set because DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown are so versatile. Perhaps 2024 cult hero Johnny Wilson is enough with a little more experience.
OFF stats: Pass EPA (7th), Pressure Rate (23rd), Rush EPA (1st).
DEF stats: Pass EPA (3rd), Pressure Rate (5th), Rush EPA (2nd).
