Kim was unable to defend his title at last week's Wyndham Championship due to a grade-1 tear in his right ankle. He suffered the injury almost three weeks ago, after the first round of The Open Championship. Kim managed to play through it, finishing T2 at Royal Liverpool after shooting 68-68-67 over the final three rounds.
At this moment, it appears Kim will try to return this week for the first event of the FedExCup playoffs. Kim was asked about the ankle injury during the Saturday CBS coverage of the Wyndham Championship, stating that he was "hopeful" to compete in Memphis at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. It was also mentioned by Kim that he was receiving positive feedback from his team in regard to how the injury was healing.
With Kim well-position at No. 14 in the FedExCup going into the playoffs, it's possible that he could opt to take another week off if the ankle is not fully healed yet. While there's currently no indication of that happening, it'll be important to monitor Kim's status closely in the days leading up to the start of the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Buckley suffered a torn muscle in his chest and rib area which forced him to withdraw from the Rocket Mortgage Classic on June 26th. According to a Twitter post from Buckley, he met with a team of doctors who diagnosed pain in his rib area as a torn muscle.
While there have been no official updates on Buckley's injury, he's currently listed in the field for this week's FedEx St. Jude Championship and it appears as though he will attempt to return this week in Memphis.
Buckley missed the cut in each of his last four starts dating back to the Charles Schwab Challenge at the end of May and through the Travelers Championship at the end of June. It's possible that the injury was impacting his play, though there's no confirmation of that being the case.
It will be important to keep an eye on updates on Buckley's health status in the days leading up to the start of the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Power withdrew during the first round of the Genesis Scottish Open on July 13th due to a hip injury. According to Power's manager, the WD in Scotland was done out of caution with The Open Championship being the more important event the following week. Power went on to miss the cut at The Open by a single shot after carding rounds of 71 and 74 at Royal Liverpool.
After missing the cut at The Open, Power said that he did tweak his hip a little bit and planned to take two weeks off before the start of the FedExCup playoffs (which he did).
There have been no official updates on Power's hip issue, though he's currently expected to tee it up this week in Memphis. It'll be important to check for any status updates on Powers before the start of the event on Thursday.
Matsuyama has remained relatively healthy this Summer, seemingly managing his neck issue well. He's coming off a missed cut at last week's Wyndham Championship, T30 finish at the 3M Open the week prior, and a T13 finish at The Open Championship the start prior to that.
Although he's competed in each of the past three weeks–seemingly without any health issues–Matsuyama's neck injury continues to be something to monitor week-to-week and any time he tees it up in an event. Matsuyama has dealt with this neck issue intermittently for the past two seasons now.

Older News:
According to a statement from PGA Tour Communications on April 28th, Matsuyama returned home to Japan after The Masters in order to receive treatment for his neck. However, according to the statement, Matsuyama's neck had not improved enough for him to compete at Quail Hollow.
Matsuyama ultimately returned to action at the AT&T Byron Nelson (May 11th-14th) after missing the Wells Fargo Championship. He finished T23 after shooting a final round 66 (-5) at TPC Craig Ranch.
Montgomery pulled out of the field for last week's Wyndham Championship several days before the start of the event. It's a curious decision for Montgomery who currently sits 53rd in the FedExCup standings and could have improved his position heading into the playoffs.
Montgomery has missed the cut in each of his last four starts on the PGA Tour. It's unclear if Montgomery is dealing with any sort of injury or just struggling to find form of late.
Nonetheless, the standout rookie is currently slated to tee it up this week in his first-ever start at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Mitchell withdrew from last week's Wyndham Championship three days before the start of the event for an undisclosed reason.
Coming off a T5 finish at the 3M Open, it seems likely that Mitchell figured out he was locked into making the playoffs and decided to rest. Nonetheless, it'll be worth keeping an eye on Mitchell's status this week.
